FAQ
Can anyone join a private golf club in the Hamptons?
Not directly. Nearly every Hamptons private club is invitation-only: you need a member to propose you, other members to second you, and approval from a membership committee. Non-equity clubs such as Hampton Hills and North Fork clubs such as Laurel Links are the most approachable.
How much does it cost to join a Hamptons golf club?
Published press reports put the modern trophy clubs (Sebonack, The Bridge, Atlantic) between roughly $650,000 and $1 million to join, with East Hampton Golf Club and Friar's Head reported in the $250,000 to $400,000 range. Old-line clubs like Shinnecock and Maidstone have historically charged far less; getting invited is the hard part. See our membership cost guide.
Can I play Shinnecock Hills as a visitor?
Only as the guest of a member. There are no public tee times.
